Artist's Comments

la fonte (the melting)

Acrylics, pencils, oil pastel, black ball point pen on canvas
(peinture acrylique, crayons, stylo a bille noir, pastel a l'huile sur toile)

Second painting I'm entering for an art student contest, it had to be a 12 x 12 inches painting on the theme of the distance and closeness. This one is less obvious then the last one, but I still enjoy it. I chose to represent again some of my abstract icebergs but this time more transparent and melty in a dramatic landscape.

Hope I'll get chose for this benefict exhibition with at least one painting!!

Souhaitez moi bonne chance :-)

Nice work. I would definately put this on my wall. You might want to incorporate the dark reds you have at the bottom more effectively.

That's a really nice piece of art, very modern, you can definately sense the impressioin of ice bergs but i really like it, it's very wishy washy and the heated reds reminds me of a sunset, a sunset behond the iceburgs how lovely!":) it's so bold and full of colour. If i was to analyse your piece, i would say that an ice berg is a really big and powerful thing it sunk the titanic didn't it, anyway it's like anger(anger being a very powerful emotion (it's like the ice berg is a metaphor of this rage) and i think that the fact you have put the two together - the icebergs and the really bold expressive red, it creates some real tension it's very emotional. i really love it. That's just my opinion it might sound like a load of rubbish to you lol, but thats what i feel when i look at it. It's really nice i hope i haven't completely confused you but everybody sees things differently lol welldone!!
